May the Force be with you...

Ah yes... the Force. Its always been there. Even when you were little, out on a summers day. Playing left Field during your little league game, picking grass and making little grass mounds. Then all of a sudden you get this feeling, a feeling that something is headed your way, when suddenly you hear the crack of a bat, and see the ball come floating through the blue sky of summer. You quickly stand up, sliding you glove over your hand, time its self is slowing down around you. You can feel the seconds pulsing around you as the ball draws nearer. The leather of your glove creeks as you open it. With all your might, you jump into the air, ready to relinquish the reward that the heavens have bestowed upon you! And then.... the ball flies over your head and lands at the back fence. You realize everyone was counting on you, and you blew it. But for a second there, you knew what it was like to be a Jedi. Thus, the obsession starts...

To many people, STAR WARS has changed their lives in some way. I for one have been obsessed with this series since i was a kid. Now only being the twenty something year old that I am, I didn't get to experience the original films in the theater until the SUPER RE-MASTERED VERSIONS were released. My parents on the other hand had me hooked before then. I had toys(some of which were the original ones in the Darth Vader case!), bed sheets, curtains, etc. I remember how happy my dad was to take me to the re-release of a new hope. it was a snowy night, and on the way home, he would turn on the brights and he told me to prepare for light speed! Do you know how freaking cool that was!?!?

Basically, I just wanted to discuss the absolute power that these movies have over any thing else. These movies spark heated discussions about which are the best( episodes 1 through 3 can suck it...), and they influence many things in our everyday lives. From other films and TV shows, video games, even modern technological advances. These movies have a incredible hold on our lives.

All of this was brought on by the announcement of new Star Wars: Force Unleashed II. The first game was just so good, at least from the story point of view, but it made me recall all of my fond memories. Whats your favorite film from the series? Mine is Return of the Jedi... and if you don't believe me that its a good one just watch this!
